Mr. Doble was born in Sumner, Maine, on September 7th, 1826 and was married to Miss Jemima Knight September 7th, 1851. In 1868 they removed to Illinois, thence to Iowa in 1870, where they buried this oldest son. From Iowa, they moved to Washington in 1892 and located in Cowlitz County, where they have since resided.
To this union were born eight children, seven of whom are living all being with us except one, who is now at Amity, Colorado. Those residing here are: Ernest and A. L. Doble, Mrs. G.A. Poland, Mrs. W.C. Patterson, Mrs. J.C. Patton and Mrs. E. E. Griwold.
Mr. Doble united with the church about thirty years ago and has always lived a consistent Christian Life. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. H. Elwell in the Caitlin Presbyterian Church, Sunday, February 11th, at 1 o'clock p.m., after which the remains were laid to rest in the I. O. O. F. cemetery.
