Joachim Ihms passed away at the Scott County hospital Saturday evening about 11:15 o'clock after an illness covering a period of about two years. He was 84 years, 11 months, and 6 days old at the time of his death and had been at the hospital for three years.
Mr. Ihms was born in Holstein, Germany, in 1831, and came to America and direct to Walcott in 1883. For many years he worked on farms in and around Walcott but since the death of his wife seven years ago he had been making his home with his children.
The deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs. P. Sandtkamp and Mrs. J. Stotterau, two sons, Carl and William, two brothers, Christian and Ernst, and one sister, Mrs. A. Kassbaum.
The funeral will be held from the H. Runge, funeral parlors Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Burial will take place in Fairmount cemetery.
