He was a shoemaker and is listed in NYC directories in the 1820s. Around 1830 he moved to Westchester after selling inherited property and buying property in Yorktown. Two other children are Hannah Romaine Curran who died in 1909 and her obituary says she is buried in Cypress Hill Cemetery in Brooklyn with her husband, John R Curran. Another son, John, lived with his daughter's family when he died in 1911.
