His marriage to Victoria Baker was reported in The Republican on 22 Sept 1859. They were married in this village (Ossining) by Rev. E. R. Keyes. His death notice published in the Republican 16 Jan 1890 says he was a long resident in Pleasantville and for some years past a sufferer of consumption and entered into his rest on the 13th inst. His remains will be entered at Scarborough on the 16th inst. In 1869 he was working as the foreman in the shoe shop at Sing Sing prison. He was assaulted by a prisoner and that story also made the newspaper (the NY Herald 14 Nov 1869). His brother was my second great grandfather.
