Full explaination of the accident has not been made as Mr. Stephens never fully regained consciousness. He died Saturday morning at the McPherson county hospital. Mrs Stephens was believed dead when taken from the car.
Rosa Whitright Stevens was born on the Whitright farm southwest of Canton on January 23, 1884, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Whitright and died Wednesday morning June 21, 1944 at the age of 60 years, 4 months and 28 days. She lived in this vicinity all her life except for the years 1922 to 1931 spent in Colby. She attended Garfield and McPherson college.
They were united in marriage on July 30, 1905. Two children were born to this union; Murray V. Stephens of Wilson, and Mrs. Gale Grady of Colby.
They are survived by their two children and five grandchildren; Mr. Stephens mother, Mrs. E. Clair Stephens of Lindsborg; his sister Mrs. Carrie Johnson of Lindsborg; and Mrs. Stephens foster brother Roscoe H. Evans
