DANNA ATTORNEY SUCCUMBS AT HOME OF PARALYSIS; WAS FORMER MAGISTRATE
T. B. (Jim Bob) Akers 77 died Sunday at 7:30 pm at his home at Dana. He was a victim of paralysis and had been ill for ten years, seriously so three weeks. Mr Akers was admitted to the Floyd County Bar in 1912 and practice chiefly in the Justice of the Peace Courts until 1940 when he retired due to impaired hearing. He served as magistrate in Distinct No. 4 from 1922 to 1926'

He was the son of William and Mellisa Tipton Akers and was married to Janie Dingus. surviving sons are David Akers of Price, Mrs Marie Kirby of Columbia, SC, Mrs Malta Howell of Hi Hate, Novella Compton of Besty Lane, Mrs Alka May Akers of Lancer, Mrs Tody Tackett of Betsy Lane, Mrs Emodel Boyd of Dana, two surviving sisters Mrs Fannie Layne of Harold and Mrs Oma Robinette of Pikeville.

Funeral rites were conducted at the home of a daughter, Mrs Emodel Boyd at Dana Wednesday. Burial was made in the Conn Cemetery on Prater Creek under the direction of Hall Funeral Home.
