Ima Piercy Hancock was born June 13, 1928 in the Shearer Valley Community of Wayne County, the daughter of the late William Terry and Artie Bertram. She departed this life, Monday morning, July 29th at the Cumberland Valley Manor in Burkesville reaching an age of 91 years.
She was united in marriage with Frank Hancock who precedes her in death.
Surviving is her son, Mike Piercy, his wife Kathy precedes her in death and Geri and her husband Darrell West; four grandchildren: Lucas and his wife Heather Piercy, Rachael Piercy, Tyler and wife Sierra West and Chad West; two great grandchildren: Ty Piercy and Atticus West and one brother: Roscoe and his wife Eloise Bertram.
She is also preceded in death by her siblings: Frances Arzella Hill, Eva Tuggle and Nina Slagle.
Ima worked checkout for many years in the local grocery stores and a greeter at Walmart. As a young lady she accepted Christ as her Savior and became a member of the Taylors Grove Baptist Church. She later mover her membership to the First Baptist Church where she was an active member and sung in the choir.
