Pleas was the son of Moses & Fannie Cheatham Grimes. He left his native Jessamine County and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. He married Elsa Louisa Vogt, the daughter of Max & Rosina Gribling Vogt, on November 27, 1913, in that city. The couple were the parents of Clifford Anthony and Rita Ann Grimes. Mr. Grimes worked as a machinist and then as a foreman at a heating company plant. He passed away from the effects of a coronary thrombosis, complicated by a history of hypertension and angina pectoris.

Stricken by a heart attack when at work at the Oakley plant of the Williamson Heater Company, Madison Road and Marburg Avenue, Pleas Grimes, 45 years old, Montgomery Road, Kenwood, died suddenly yesterday morning. His body was removed to Witt & Co. funeral home, 3026 Madison Road, Oakley.

Mr. Grimes had been head of the dye department at Williamson Company's Oakley plant for 12 years. Prior to that he was assistant superintendent of the Triumph Electric Corporation.

His widow, Mrs. Elsa Vogt Grimes; a son, Clifford Grimes; a daughter, Miss Rita Ann Grimes; a sister, Mrs. Steve Woods; and two brothers, Timothy and James Grimes, both of Lexington, Ky. Services will be held Tuesday morning.

•Pleas Grimes, beloved husband of Elsa Grimes (nee Vogt) and father of Clifford and Rita Grimes, suddenly, Saturday July 20, 1935. Funeral Tuesday, July 23, from the residence, Montgomery rd., Kenwood. Requiem high mass at Church of the Nativity at 9 a.m.
