From THE OFTEBRO FAMILY, Vol 2, p170:

Gerald “Jerry” Henry was born on July 29, 1913 at Henry and Olava’s dairy farm in Marysville, Washington. Jerry learned farming, worked at a nearby golf course, was very active in school activities and sports, and was the first in his family to attend university where he volunteered on many social, administrative and sports activities. He graduated from WSU in Agriculture Economics and worked in the loan department at the farm bureau. After serving in the US Army in WW II, Jerry managed the John Deere tractor dealership in Everett. Jerry, Nan and the boys moved to Mount Vernon where he sold Caterpillar tractors and logging equipment. Jerry was active in our Lutheran Church, the Lions Club, Elks Club, and supported the boys in all of their school and sports activities. He later turned to selling mutual fund investments and after that, real estate. Jerry and Nan married in 1940 and concentrated their focus in life to strong family and friend connections. In 1952 they purchased a fishing shack on Whidbey Island and turned a rough cabin with no utilities into a beautiful little beach home that would become their life-long weekend and summer adventure. Jerry was a champion fisherman, dragged the boys water skiing, dug clams, trapped crab and replaced the original cabin with a retirement home which he and Nan enjoyed immensely to the end of their lives.
