Mark Lawrence Stevens,72, died Saturday morning in Fountainview Place following an extended illness. He was born in Muncie, son of John And Gertie Carpenter Stevens, and attended Harrison Elementary School.
He was employed by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Weekly for many years, prior to which he had worked in several nursing homes in the Muncie area. At one time he was a farmer in the Cammack and Upland areas.
Surviving are two sisters, Arvada (Mrs. Eli) Shreves and Mrs. Dorothy Crump, and two brothers, Sherman and Charles Stevens, all of Muncie and Several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in Meeks Mortuary Chapel at 3 p.m. Monday. Burial will follow in Hawk Cemetery, north of Yorktown. Callers will be received at the mortuary 3-7 p.m. today or prior to services on Monday.
