Verne L. Klingensmith, formerly of Leechburg and Logansport, died about 8 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 1958, in Armstrong County Home.

He was aged 73 years, having been born on Dec. 18, 1884, in Logansport, a son of Nancy (Shearer) Klingensmith of Bethel Twp. and the late Joseph Klingensmith. He was a retired coal miner. He was a member of Homewood Baptist Church and the Slovak American Citizens Political Assn., in Leechburg.

His wife, Mrs. Ida (Fuller) Klingensmith died in 1912.


In addition to his mother, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Salvatore (Verna) Gasbarro of Hyde Park; two grandchildren; one great grandchild: three sisters, Miss Elizabeth Klingensmith of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Sarah Bash and Mrs. Walter Thickey, both of Tarentum; and six brothers, Archie of Leechburg, Murray and Lloyd, both of Ford City, Oliver of Tarentum, Wilbur and Jewell, both of Kittanning RD 1.

Friends will be received at Armstrong funeral home, Main and Second Sts., Leechburg, until the noon hour Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. in the Homewood Baptist Church with Rev. Dean McKee officiating.

Burial will be made in Homewood Baptist cemetery.
