PAMELA RENE ADKINS

Pamela Rene Adkins of Ozark, Alabama passed away early Monday morning, May 31, 2010, at the home of her brother in Cottonwood. She was 53. Funeral services will be held at 11:30a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Bethel United Methodist Church with Dr. Billy Gaither officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, June 1, from 6-8p.m. Her body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time. Flowers will be accepted or the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, c/o Janet Brooks, 7300 E. County Road 36, Ozark, AL 36360 or Echo Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 372, Ozark, AL 36360. Pam was born January 9, 1957, the youngest of six children born to S. B. and Bonnie Elmer Chancey Adkins. She attended George W. Long School. Pam worked at Wex-Tex in Headland for 14 years. In most recent years, she was employed with the Federal/State Inspection Service in Dothan for 18 years. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Pam enjoyed quilting and spending time with her devoted and loving family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister; Retha Nell Taggart. Survivors include her brother; Jerry Adkins, and wife, Julie, of Cottonwood; sister; Bobbie McDaniel, and husband; Hugh, of Ozark, sister; Margaret McDaniel, and husband; Bobby, of Ozark, and sister; Linda Gail Walker, of Ozark, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews that she loved dearly. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home in Ozark, (334) 774-4551, is in charge of arrangements.
