Sylvia Becker Rites Saturday
Mrs. Sylvia A. Becker, 84, of Guttenberg died Wednesday evening, Oct. 12, 1983 at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.
Services were conducted by the Rev. L.R. Lechner at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church with burial in Guttenberg City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dan Walke, Fred Walke, Bill Walke, Kevin Becker, Doug McLeod and Lowell Nieman.
Visitation was at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home.
Mrs. Becker was a daughter of William and Mathilda (Dittmer) Nuehring and was born in Guttenberg March 11, 1899. She was married to John W. Becker May 7, 1919 at St. John's Church. Mr. Becker died June 9, 1970.
Surviving are three sons, Christ Becker of Cedar Falls, Otto Becker of Nunnelly, Tenn., and Donald Becker of Guttenberg; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Ted (Gusta) Dittmer of Colesburg and Mrs. Clarence (Mathilda) Geuder of Guttenberg. Mrs. Becker was preceded by a daughter, Mrs. Vina Mae Walke on April 8, 1975.
