She was a native and lifelong resident of Winnfield. She and her husband owned Garrett Cleaners. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Readers Review Club.
Survivors include her husband S.L. Garrett of Winnfield; one son, Gail Garrett of Morgan City; three brothers, Frank Brewer of Houma, John Brewer of Baton Rouge and James Brewer of Salem, Ore.; two sisters, Frances Brewer of Baton Rouge and Mrs. L.G. Neilson of Houston; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with Dr. Calvin Phelps officiating. Burial will be in Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Hixson Bros.
