Jennings -- Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Istre Newman, 94, will
be at 3 p.m. today, May 21, in Miguez Funeral Home.
The Revs. W.H. ''Snow'' Ramour and Kenneth Wall will officiate.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation is from 8 a.m.
Mrs. Newman died at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 1998, in the
Jennings hospital.
A native of Estherwood, she lived in Gueydan and was a resident of
Jennings for 58 years. She was a charter member of the Bethel Baptist
Church and a member of the Adult Sunday School class.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Bernice Touchet and Mrs.
Stella Nunez, both of Jennings, and Mrs. Mildred Crenshaw of Lake
Charles; two sons, Howard Newman of Crowley and Allen Newman
of Jennings; one sister, Mrs. Vivian Fontenot of Sulphur; 12
grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and six
great-great-grandchildren.
