Hays -- Richard A. Arnhold, 89, of Hays, passed away May 20, 2010, in the Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas. He was born April 5, 1921, on the family farm in Ellis County, the son of Anton F. and Rosa (Maska) Arnhold.

Richard was a lifetime resident on the farm where he was born. He spent his working years farming and also worked in construction and maintenance. He was a member of the St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #9076, both of Hays.

Survivors include, his wife, of the home; four sons, Donald L., and Bruce A. and wife, Darlene, all of Hays, Thomas D. and wife, Joleen, of Hutchinson, Kenneth D. and wife, Teri, of Ellsworth; a daughter, Dorothy A.
