Ann Mathews married John Nisbet/Nesbit,Esq., 19 Sept 1820, the ceremony being performed by the Rev.Joseph Scroggs,D.D., pastor of Fairview Presbyterian Church, Somerset Co., PA. Rev. Scroggs baptized their children, Martha, Esther, William, Archibald, James, John and Mary Jane who were born in Fairfield Township. Somerset Co.,PA. David and Margaret Ann were born in Northfield Twp., Summit Co., Ohio.
The family came to Cleveland, Ohio and then to Northfield, Summit Co., Ohio in 1831. Their daughters Martha Nisbet married Hamil Alexander; Esther Nisbet married Albert Rinear; Mary Jane Nisbet married Alexander McConnell and Margaret Nisbet married Horace H. Palmer.
Ann (Matthews) Nisbet died in Northfield Twp., 17 April 1859, aged 65 yrs. (Tombstone) Burial was in Northfield Cemetery, Northfield, Summit Co., Ohio. The stone next to hers is that of her husband, John Nisbet.
