William Kemler or Gamler/Gambler was the husband of Margareth Rebecca Bleckle; they married 12 June 1836. William and Margareth were the parents of 10 known children: Henry, Josiah, William, Uriah, Samuel, Joseph, Obediah, Mary Margaret, John and Louisa. William and son Obediah were fatally injured in a work-related powder explosion. Obediah died instantly; his father two weeks later.
