ALBERT ANDERSON
Funeral services for the late Albert Anderson who passed away at his home in Champlain on Wednesday,
July 12, 1934, were held Monday afternoon. There being a short prayer at the house in Champlain at 2 o'clock and church services at the Chazy Methodist Church at 2:45. Interment was in
the Chazy cemetery. Mr. Anderson, who had been ill for about two weeks, would have been 70
years old next January. Albert S. Anderson, who was one of the substantial and highly regarded citizens of Clinton County, was born on a farm at Beekmantown,N. Y., on January 1,1855, He attended the local schools and married Miss Martha Doane,
of Chazy, in 1886. Two children were born of the union, Ruth and Laura, both of whom died in infancy.The family moved from Beekmantown to Chazy where they lived for many years and from the latter village to Champlain about 8 years ago.
Mr. Anderson was a man who made many friends and they filled the Chazy church completely at his funeral. He had an unusually retentive memory particularly of events that occurred during his
boyhood days, and he enjoyed telling of them to younger people. He was a correspondent for The North Countryman at Champlain during recent years and his news items concerning local happenings were often tinged with a dry humor that brought smiles and enjoyment to his readers,
The Rev. Mr. Cornell, of The Rev. Mr. Cornell, of the Chazy Methodist Church, offered the prayer at the Anderson house and conducted the funeral services at Chazy. He was assisted by Rev.A.J.V. Durbin, of the Champlain Presbyterian Church. Bearers were Levl Atwood and Clifford LaPlante
of Champlain, and John Duproy,John Talford, Andrew Chisholm,and Arthur Lewis, of Chazy.Out of town relatives who attended the funeral included Mr.and Mrs. George Anderson, of Three Rivers, Que.; Mr. and Mrs.Charles Anderson, Plattsburgh,
nephews and Mrs. A. A. Webb, a niece, of Syracuse. Mr. and Mrs.Wm. Wilson, of Whitehall, and Mr.and Mrs. George Anderson of KeeseviUe, cousins, were also present.Among the out of town friends were: Mr. and Mrs. Edward Northrup,of Montpelier, Vt.; Mrs. B.Dodds, Mrs. Atkins and Mrs. Gordon,of Grand Isle; Miss Ella McCullough, of Albany; Mrs. Harry Viall, Mrs. David Parsons, Mrs.Scribner and daughters, Mrs. Annie Mooney, Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Saxe, Dr. and Mrs. McDowell
and Dr. and Mrs. Rowlson, of Plattsburgh.
