Charles H. Gromis Sr., 52, died last night in his home, 413 Lehman Street, Lebanon. Born in Robesonia, he was a son of Benjamin and Elvina (Engel) Gromis Sr. He was a member of Elias Lutheran Church, Newmanstown and Womelsdorf Volunteer Fire companies, VFW Home Assn., Womelsdorf; Democratic Club, Lebanon, and Newmanstown Athletic Assn. Gromis served in the Navy following World War I. Surviving besides his parents are a daughter, June E., Lebanon, at whose home he died; a son, Charles S. Jr., Newmanstown; a grandchild and these brothers and a sister: Oscar, West Lawn; Benjamin H. Jr., and Luke, both of Womelsdorf; Ralph and George, Newmanstown; Albert, Warren and Walter, all of Robesonia R.D., and Annie, wife of Ethan Hass, Lebanon. Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Danner Funeral Home, Womelsdorf, the Rev. Dr. E. L. Leisey officiating. Burial will be in Elias Church Cemetery, Newmanstown.
