Services for Albert F. Gromis, 71, of Robesonia R. D. 1, will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Edward W. Cloughen will officiate in the Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, Wernersville. Burial will be made in the Mill creek Memorial Cemetery, Newmanstown. Gromis died Wednesday morning in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he was admitted earlier in the day. Born in Robesonia, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Elvina (Engle) Gromis. Gromis had been employed as a blacksmith helper by the former E. J. Lavino Co., Inc., Newmanstown, before retiring in 1969. He was a member of St. Daniel's (Corner) Lutheran Church, Robesonia R.D. 1; Truckers Association, Reading; Pioneer Hose of Robesonia; Liberty of Sinking Spring, and Newmanstown fire companies; Newmanstown Athletic Association; Max W. Schaeffer Veterans of Foreign Wars, Womelsdorf; West Lawn Quoting Association, Richland American Legion Post No. 880; Newmanstown Ambulance Corps, and the Reinholds Athletic Club. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann (Betz) Gromis; a son, Richard B., at home; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also five brothers: Ralph and George, both of Newmanstown; Oscar, in Florida; Luke, Lebanon; and Walter, Reading; and a sister, Annie, widow of Ethan Hass, Lebanon.
