He was born and lived in Fort Hamblin, Utah, also known as Mountain Meadow, until the floods forced the people to move. They moved to Washington, Utah, so his parents could work in the cotton factory.

George's Grandmother Mather died in his arms in 1881

He went to live with Joe Crawford and his wife when George was 11 yrs old because he thought his father didn't love him anymore. Crawfords didn't have any children of their own. Joe and Matilda Crawford were good to him.

George had very little schooling. He helped build several dams. He loved music, and played the violin, harmonica and organ, and was a bass singer.

He had a broken leg and suffered from pleurisy. He broke his leg when a horse slipped and fell on him.

When George and Eveline were first married they lived with the Crawford's, until George Albert Jr. was born. Joe Crawford had given them a few stands of bees when they got married. George was the Washington County Bee Inspector for 22 years, until the age of 73.

They raised onions and had a truck garden. Sold onion plants to the Gill Bro. Seed Co. in Oregon.

He was Ditch Rider for Washington Field Canal Co. in 1921. He was also city councilman at one time. During the depression years he furnished employment for many women and children that were old enough to work in the onion gardens.

George's former land was home to the Washington City Community Garden when it existed and is now the home of the Washington City Police Department offices.

He died at the age of 85 yrs old, in 1955.
