WASHINGTON CITY--Calvin E. Hall, 85, died Tuesday, July 11, 1989 at his home in Washington City.
He was born Jan. 26, 1904 in Washington City to George Albert and Sarah Eveline Prince Hall. He married Mary Elizabeth "Bessie" Collier on May 14, 1931 in Washington City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple.
A heavy equipment operator, he was employed by the U.S. Bureau of Public Roads for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, trapping and gardening.
Surviving family members include his wife of Washington City; a son LaVar Hall of St. George; two daughters, Mrs. Doyle (Helen C.) Winder of Springdale and Mrs. Marlow (Mary Lou) Stratton of Virgin; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Bertha Ferdig and Florence H. Lamb, both of Washington City, and Phoebe Seagraves of Covina, Calif. He was preceded in death by a son, Alvin J. Hall.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Washington City LDS 4th Ward Chapel. Friends may call Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Spilsbury Desert Rose Memorial Chapel and Saturday at the chapel one hour prior to services. Interment wil be in the Washington City Cemetery.
