Joseph F. Hooks, aged 63 years, well-known resident of Washington Township, died at his home at Adrian Saturday evening at 8 o'clock. He is survived by his wife Ada Hooks; three sons, Perry W. Hooks, Adrian, Roy L. Hooks, Meadville, and Thomas Hooks at home; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Wyant, Butler, R.D.#3, Mrs. Ruth Anthony, Kittanning, and Mrs. Goldie Frick, Adrian. Also surviving are six grandchildren, one brother Harry Hooks, Adrian, and six sisters, Mrs. Henry Bauer, Kittannnig, Mrs. Wilda Tenny, Akron, OH, Mrs. Belle Wolfe, Kittanning, Mrs. Annie Patton, Mosgrove, and Mrs. Dolly Toy and Mrs. Mary Toy, both of Adrian. Mr. Hooks was a member of Kittanning Lodge No. 340 of the I.O.O.F. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:20 p.m. in the Montgomeryville Baptist Church and will be in charge of Rev. Gilbert Heilman. Burial will follow in the Kittanning Cemetery.
