Mrs. Fannie (Hooks) Bauer, 81, of Kittanning RD 5, died at 10:35 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 15, 1957) in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since Friday. Death was attributed to a stroke. Mrs. Bauer was born Feb. 29, 1876 in Washington Twp., a daughter of James and Margaret (Gibson) Hooks. She spent her entire life in this community. Surviving are her husband, Henry Bauer; three sons, Dr. H. Paul Bauer of Meadville, Ralph H. Bauer of Kittanning RD 5, and Fred L. Bauer of Kittanning; a daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Myers at home; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Toy and Mrs. Dollie Toy of Adrian RD 1, Mrs. Wilda Tenney of Akron, Ohio and Mrs. Belle Wolfe of Kittanning; five grandchildren and a great grandchild. Mrs. Bauer was a faithful member of St. Luke's Reformed Church Kittanning, and a member of the Ladies Bible Class of the same church. Friends will be received at Bauer funeral home after 7 p. m. today. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p. m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Howard F. Loch, pastor of St. Luke's Reformed Church, will officiate, Burial will be in Kittanning cemetery.
