Rice Lake Chronotype - June 17, 1925
William Beckstrom died at 4: a.m. on Saturday, June 13, after a short illness from in intussus ceplum, a form of bowel obstruction which the doctors say may have started from drinking to much cold water while overheated. His age was 37 years, 1 month and 7 days. He owned a small farm on Route 1 on which he lived, but worked most of the time at his trade of carpenter and builder.
He was born May 6, 1888 in the locality in which he spent his life in the township of Doyle and was united in marriage about 13 years ago with Miss Alma Skar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Skar. His wife and six children survive, the oldest 12 years of age. Their names are Vivian, Margaret, Harvey, Alice, Donald and William. His mother, Mrs. Carrie Beckstrom, it will be recalled, died last month. Mr. Beckstrom also left one sister, Mrs. Peter Overland of Campia, and four brothers, Anton, Henry, John and Axel, all of Route 5.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the home of his sister, Mrs. Peter Overland, and at Larson Corners church, Rev. H.G. Engum officiating, and interment was made in the Larson Corners Cemetery (now known as Our Saviors Cemetery).
