Jennie married Chilton Craven Whistler March 17, 1880 in Sparta and they moved to Watertown, SD soon after. She met Chilton when they were students in Sparta. Jennie was a teacher and taught at the first school in Codington County in the Markley District, 5 miles so. of town. She was a member of the DAR which is so noted on her crypt at the Mauseleum. Jennie loved to paint, sketch and do china painting. She was 65 years old when she died of pancreatic cancer.
