Jessie married John Alvin Wygaard Oct. 9, 1907 in Watertown, SD. She and John were the parents of 4 children, John Eugene, Miriam Alice, Kathlyn Mary and Jane Carol. Jessie went to work for Choate's Department Store in 1945 after John's death and occasionally modeled in fashion shows as the "modeling grandmother" until 1961. She lived in Winona as a widow until 1976 when she moved to Mora, MN to be near her daughter, Miriam. Jessie died at St. Mary's Hospital at the age of 98 years, 1 month, 22 days. Her family celebrated her birthdays every five years with a family reunion. She was a member of the Congregational Church, the Eastern Star, and DAR.
