ORVAL CLYDE BAWDEN Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather Orval C. Bawden, 78, of Orem, Utah, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Sunday, February 24, 2002. He was born June 12, 1923, in Granger, Utah to William O. and Mary Ellen Bawden. He married LaPriel Russon on October 18, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He graduated from Cyprus High School and then entered the service as a B-24 bomber pilot during World War II. He graduated from the University of Utah and worked for Geneva Steel for 33 years. He enjoyed playing the guitar and was a member of a dance band. He loved to golf! He was a life long active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many positions including Bishop and Stake Clerk. He is survived by his wife and nine children; Steven (Susan) Bawden, Jeniel (Charles) Humble, Jeanette (Larey) Lawrence, Joann (Don) Adamson, Joyce (Jay) v - ''. w. , Magnusson, Merrill (Laura) Bawden, Grant (Mary) Bawden, Clark Bawden, Jewell (Scott) May; 45 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Leland, Glen, Dale and his sister, LaVee Cannon. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Thelma Bennion and Ruby Bawden, and a grandson, Chad Humble. Funeral services were held Friday, March 1, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. in the Sharon 1st Ward Chapel, 641 South 400 East, Orem, Utah. Friends called Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Walker Family Mortuary, 646 East 800 North, Orem and at the Church on Friday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment was in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Military rites will be by VFW District 4 Honor Guard. The family would like to thank his doctors. Hospice, Alpine Valley Care Center, friends and ward members for their loving care and support.
