Will Whorton

The remains of Will Whorton arrived in Blooming Grove Tuesday. He died at his home in Oak Cliff, and his illness covered a period of some months. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the home of the aged patents, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Whorton. Bro. Wagner made a touching talk, laying a beautiful tribute to the career of this noble man. Following the funeral the Odd Fellows took charge and under the auspices of this order the remains were followed to Rose Hill where interment took place.

Will T. Whorton grew to manhood in the Cryer Creek community. He married Miss Lizzie Kilpatrick and they lived until about 1914 in this community, moving to Shackelford county.

His wife and eight children survive him. Will Whorton was a man of good character, a splendid citizen, a patient father, a loving husband. He had high ideals and his aspirations were lofty.
