MRS. JAMES W. LANE

Demmie May Anderson, daughter of John W. and Louisa Anderson, was born in Kearney county, Neb., on April 6, 1882, and died in Albia, Iowa, June 3, 1923 at 5:20 p.m. Her age was 41 years, 1 month and 27 days.

She was married to James W. Lane at Lucas, Iowa, Nov. 23, 1902. To this union were born ten children, seven sons and three daughters, one dying in infancy and one when six years old. The living children are: William, Helen, Ronald, Leona, Arthur, Roy, Clarence and Alvin, with age from 3 months to 19 years.

After her marriage about ten years were spent at Lucas and then ten years in Chariton. She was sick but five days. It was a sudden call. The danger was hardly realized until the last two days and then she was hurriedly taken to the hospital, but medical skill could not save her.

About three years ago, at the Nazarene church, she repented of her sins and confessed Christ as her Savior, and gave a public expression of her salvation a number of times in the meetings. She did not unite with any church.

When she came to face death, she gave evidence of victory over sin, and planned her funeral. It is a great sorrow and loss to the family that calls for the sympathy of neighbors and friends.

Rev. E. W. Curtis conducted the funeral services at the United Brethren church on Tuesday at 2 p.m., assisted by Rev. M. S. Clark, and interment was made in the Chariton cemetery.
