Nora Dalton was born in Springfield, Tennessee. Her father was S.W. Dalton, her mother was Sarah Jane Mason. She later moved to Hopkinsville, Ky. She was married to Lucian Davis in the Old Baptist Church in Hopkinsville in 1892 and had two children, Elizabeth Davis Covington and Latham Davis.She was very active in all activities of the church. She attended Bethel Female College in 1887 and was a member and former president of the Alumni. She raised her grand daughter, Elizabeth Covington Wilson (My Mother). Elizabeth Davis Covington, her daughter, died when her baby was only a week old. Nora and her brother George owned the Dalton Brick Company. Her father was a prominent Brick manufacturer in Springfield, Tennessee and Nora and George continued with the family business in Hopkinsville, Ky. Nora's husband was a prominent Architect in Hopkinsville. She passed away the day after Christmas in 1955. She fell and broke her hip on December 16th and on the 26th they preformed surgery.I just checked her death certificate and it states she broke her neck and had a heart condition that contributed to her death. She did not survive the surgery. She was a wonderful woman and I will always cherish her. She was Granny to me! FAITHFUL, LOYAL, KIND, AND TRUE.
