                                                                   OBITUARY

Albert Austin Bird was born near Trenton, Mo., Nov. 3, 1869, and died at his home in Fairfield, Nebr., on August 9, 1928, at the age of 58 years, 9 months and 6 days.

He with his parents came to Nebraska in 1874 and homesteaded in Clay county east of Fairfield and there he lived till 1908 when he moved to Fairfield because of ill health. He lived here since that time. For the past ten years he has been delivery man for the Fairfield stores.

He always stood for the best things for the community in which he lived. He was a devoutly religious man. He with his mother, was converted at a cottage prayer meeting when he was quite young and both joined the Methodist church of which he has been a loyal and faithful member till his death. He was interested in all the work of the church and other good causes. He was faithful in attendance at the services and when possible was always there. He was kind and thoughtful and made and retained the friendship of those who knew him.

He was the oldest of a family of six children and when the father passed away Albert gave him his promise to keep the family together. Although he was quite young at that time he kept his promise and he has provided a home for them.

Two sisters and one brother have gone on before and two sisters are left to mourn their loss. They are Millie ad Nora Bird both of Fairfield. They have the sympathy of their many friends. He will be missed from the church and home and community. We say farewell to him but we cherish the memory of his kind and sympathetic helpfulness.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church, Sunday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. R. H. Carr. Burial as Fairfield cemetery.
