DEATH OF MRS. J. J. ROSE.

At their home, at Overshot, this county, on the 4th inst, Mrs. Julia Amanda Rose passed to her eternal rest, aged 37 years 2 months and 13 days. She was married to Mr. J. J. Rose at the age of 18, who with nine children, survives her. She proved to be a most excellent companion--thoughtful, affectionate, and faithful to all the interests of her husband. She was a tender and indulgent mother, industrious and watchful of the interests of her children, "looking well to the ways of her household," until her strength failed and it became impossible. She was an agreeable and accomodating neighbor and it may truly be said that "toward the needy she reached an ever open hand." She leaves a large circle of friends who miss her presence and mourn her death.

She became a member of the Christian church at Mill Creek, at the early age of 15, and was at all times a consistent and loving Disciple of the Lord Jesus, and was ready for the summons. Her health had been declining some time, but she was confined to her room only a short while. When she realized that the end was near she was calm, resigned and trustful, and died in the full assurance of a blessed immortality. She died, as we think, in the prime of life, and "her sun went down while it was yet day," but it shines the brighter on the hills immortal.

"Tis ever thus--" Tis ever thus, with creatures heavenly fair,
Too finely framed to abide the brunt mere earthly natures bear:
A little while they dwell with us, blessed ministers of love;
Then spread the wings we had not seen, and seek the home above."
