SELLERS
Bertha Ambelang Sellers, 91 years of age, died on January 23, 1972 at the Chariton Manor where she had been a resident for the past two years. She was born September 9, 1880 in Lucas County, Iowa, daughter of Frank and Bertha Begerow Ambelang.
On December 20, 1904 she was united in marriage to Clifford Sellers, who preceded her in death in 1949.
She lived on a farm in Lucas County until 1948 when she moved to Chariton. She was a member of the United Brethren Church.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by two children, Thomas and Wilma Vinson; one grandchild, three brothers and four sisters.
Surviving are eight children, Perry of Russell, James of Chico, Calif., Charles of Norfolk, Neb., Mrs. Paul (Ella) Webb of Rockwell City, Robert of Chico, Calif., Mrs. Tom (Ruth) Thomas Jr. of Des Moines, Mrs. Richard (Jessie) Robison of Galesburg, Ill., and Mrs. Robert (Lovilla) Linn of Emporia, Kans.; one sister, Martha Roberts of Chariton; 23 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday, Jan. 27, at the Miley Funeral Home with the Rev. Landon Mendenhall officiating. Burial was in the Chariton Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Verne Vincent, Willard Davis, George Morrett, Lester Ambelang, Lew New and Leo Sellers. Organist was Mildred Sanders and the song was "Will the Circle be Unbroken."
