SELLERS

Frank Perry Sellers, son of Clifford and Bertha (Ambelang) Sellers, was born June 3, 1909, in Whitebreast Township, near Chariton, Iowa. He passed away Dec. 4, 1995, at the Lucas County Health Center, at the age of 86.

Perry was a lifelong resident of Lucas County, farming in the Russell area most of his life. He was united in marriage to Louise E. Taylor in 1929, and to this union two children were born, Dwight and Pauline.

Following his retirement in 1988, Perry and Louise moved to Russell. He became a resident of the Chariton Manor in 1994.

Perry was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was always eager to help his neighbors and friends whenever he was needed. He will be missed by all of his neighbors and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise, in 1992; his grandson, Neil Alvin Askren; great-grandson, Ricky Saenz; sister, Wilma Vinson; and a second sister in infancy.

Perry is survived by his children, son, Dwight Sellers and wife, Carol of Des Moines; and daughter, Pauline and husband, Walden Askren of Muscatine; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Jim and Bob Sellers, both of Chico, Calif.; and Charles Sellers, of Norfolk, Neb.; four sisters, Ella Webb of Rockwell City, Ruth Thomas of Garden Grove, Jessie Robison of Galesburg, Ill., and Lovilla Linn of Emporia, Kan.; several nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7, 1995, at the Fielding Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Humburg officiating. Burial was in the Chariton Cemetery. Serving as bearers were Vic Phippen, Burton Werts, Craig Alexander, James Werts, Quincy Robb and Milan Tuttle.
