THOMAS BLAKELY

Thomas Blakely was born Aug 23, 1875 at Randolph, Iowa, and passed away at his home in Halsey, Nebr, Aug 21, 1953 at the age of 77 years, 11 months and 28 days.
He is the son of Thomas and Jane (Coats) Blakely.
At the age of 13 he moved with his parents to Purdum, Nebr. Later the family moved to Dunning, Nebr.
In 1908 he married Jessie Harris. To this union one son was born, Emery L, of Dunning Nebr.
In 1901 he homesteaded 10 miles north of Dunning, on which place he made his home until about six years ago, when because of failing health he retired to Halsey, but he continued to make regular trips to the ranch until about July 1st.
He is survived by his wife and son, daughter-in-law, Helen, and two grandsons, Lowell and Gilmer; three brothers, Robert of Seattle, Wash, Chester of Longmont, Colo, and John of Dunning, Nebr; one sister, Alice Field Millhollin, of Bridgeport Nebr; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services wee conducted Monday, Aug 24, at the Dunning Congregational Church with the Rev Bob Kasper officiating. Music was furnished by a quartet, Miss Mildred Robinson, Mrs Bob Smets, Mr R V Warren and Geo Hartley.
Pall bearers were Melvin Ryman, Olle Nutter, and Chet Boren of Halsey, and Fred Werener, Kenneth Stithem and Miller Heller of Dunning.
Out-of-town relatives attending the services were a sister, Mrs Alice Field Millhollin of Bridgeport, and a brother Chet, and his wife, Esther, of Longmont, Colo.
Interment was in the Dunning cemetery.
