Margaret Baker, daughter of Jane and Thomas Blakely, was born in Randolph, Iowa, July 29, 1884, and departed this life January 21, 1941, at the age of 56 years, six months, and two days.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, R B Baker, and a son and daughter, Melvin and Shirley McClement, all of the home in Dunning, two daughters, Mrs Edna Hanna of Hutchinson, Kans, and Mrs Ima Dailey of Milburn, Nebr; brothers; John of Lincoln, Nebr, Robert of Chehalis, Wash, Chester of Albion, Nebr, Albert and Thomas and a sister, Mrs Alice Fields, all of Dunning. Two brothers, Arthur and William having preceded her in death. She is survived by ten grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and countless friends.
Margaret Baker, was one of Dunning’s best beloved women. A loyal sister, a devoted wife and mother, her loving sacrifices, her dignified and honorable example she set for her children will never cease to have an uplifting influence on her posterity.
Mrs R B Baker passed away in the St Francis hospital at Grand Island, early last Friday morning. Remains were brought to Dunning and funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon from the auditorium, with Rev Raef and Rev Olson, officiating.
Burial was made in the cemetery here.
Out-of-town relatives who attended were Mr and Mrs Chester Blakely and daughter of Albion; John Blakely of Lincoln, Mrs John Swift of Thedford; Mrs Elton Hickok of Lincoln; Mrs and Mrs Walter Dally of Milburn; Mr and Mrs N F Baker and Mr and Mrs Benson of Erickson, and Mr and Mrs Clyde Baker of Ord. One daughter, Mrs Gene Hanna of Hutchinson, Kans, and one brother, Robert Blakely of Chehalis, Wash, were unable to attend.
