MONTICELLO —Pearl
(Pete) Cartmell, 82, Rt. 4,
Monticello, died 5:15 a.m.
Thursday in White County
Memorial Hospital.
He had been ill several days.
Born in White County Jan. 7,
1891, he was the son of
Nathaniel and Margaret
Nicholas Cartmell.
His first marriage in 1910 was
to Irma Rouchier, who died in
1919. He married Mary Ann
Powell in 1926 and she preceded
him in death in 1951.
He was a retired farmer and a
member of the Mt. Olive
Church.
Survivors include a son,
Charles, Rt. 4, Monticello; three
daughters, Mrs. Clarence
Brown, Rt. 3, Monticello, Mrs.
Foster Wilkerson, Rt. 1,
Reynolds, and Mrs. Maynard
Boze, Rt. 5, Monticello; one step
son, Mike Rouchier, Okechobee,
Fla.; 11 grandchildren and 19
great-grandchildren. A grandchild
preceded him in death.
Services will be 10:30 a.m.
Saturday at Miller Funeral
Home, with the Rev. Robert
Ross officiating. Burial will be
in Idaville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the
funeral home after 4 p.m.
Friday.
