Frieda E. Brown

MONTICELLO — Frieda E. Brown, 78, of 807 Fairwood Drive, died at 12 p.m. Sunday in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

She was born July 15, 1910, in White County, to Pearl "Pete" and Irma Rouhier Cartmell. She was married Feb. 9, 1929, to Clarence A. Brown, who survives.

She was a lifelong resident of White County. She was a 1928 graduate of Idaville High School. She was a member of the Monticello Christian Church.

Also surviving are a daughter, Shirley Hintz, Indianapolis; a son, Jerry A., Monticello; two sisters, Flossie Wilkerson, Reynolds, and Vesta Boze, Monticello; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A brother and half-brother preceded in death.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home, with the Rev. Donald Arterburn officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
