Emily Bell Curvey born around 1850 was from a fairly large family in the Denson Springs area of Anderson County. Her parents were Thomas and Jane Barnett Bell. The Bells came to the area with William Turner (W.T.) Sadler from Putman County Georgia in the early 1800,s as newly freed slaves.
Emily's siblings included Fannie Bell[William Harris], Charlotte Bell[Alex Saddler], Antoinett (Lou) [Ben Jones], Elizabeth Bell [Levy Wright], Jennie (Lizzie) never married, Caadona Bell, and Henry Bell.
Van Jefferson and Emily married around 1868. They lived in Augusta on the Clark farm on the Pedro Creek between Augusta and Germany, Texas. She died between 1891 and 1900.
Her Children were Thomas [wives-Ellen Allen, Carrie], Wiley (Bud) [wife-Emma Davis], Van ( Mobley)[Ella Reed, Mary Harvey, Odelia Smith], Arvela (Vella) [Neal Walker], Lumm [Nicy Dancer, Flossie White], Lubell [Albert Edens], Roxie [T.Odam], and Arthur (Bunk) Curvey.
