Name spelled Arthur or Author nicknamed Bunk. He was the youngest of eight children born to Van Jefferson Curvey and Emily Bell Curvey. Siblings:Thomas, Wiley (Bud), Van Austin(Mobley), Arvella (Vella), Lum, Lou Bell, and Roxie (Tisha).
Early on he moved to Oklahoma. Thru research we find how Arthur made his way to Tulsa, OK. In 1907 we see where he and Martha had a child in Navarro County, Texas. Then when he registered for the WWI draft, he states he cannot service, his wife has died. He has a child to take care of. We next find Arthur and his wife Ruthie on the 1910 Muskogee Oklahom census. They have one son in the household.
We next see where Arthur married Mattie Owens in Sebastian County, OK on 7 December 1920. They had two children: Melida Curvey and Sarah Curvey Mashaw. Sarah Georgette Curvay Mayshaw(1923-2015) is one child of Arthur and his 2nd wife Mattie Owens Curvay. She married Roy Mayshaw who is buried in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
In 1944, we find his marriage to Lillian Black. We do not find any children from this marriage. Arthur was married to Lillian at the time of his death.
We also know from oral family history, that Arthurs' father, Van, moved Oklahoma to live with him after his wife, Emily died.
Bunk's brother, Mobley, never got over Bunk's leaving home. Rev NC Curvey, has made sure his Uncle Bunk will be remembered.

Inscription

This is a Cenotaph. When Bunk's nephew Rev NC Curvey helped survey this cemetery in 1977, he added his Uncle Bunk. So he would not be forgotten. Bunk had left Houston County, when he was a young man. The family never knew what had happened to him, other than he had two daughters. Arthur Curvey is buried in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Tulsa, OK
