OBITUARY :
MERLE D. ADDLESBERGER, 68, Waynesboro R.D. 2, died at 7:15 a.m. Sunday at the Chambersburg Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past three and a half years after suffering a heart attack. He became critically ill and was admitted to the hospital Friday afternoon.

Mr. Addlesberger was born in Waynesboro August 18, 1898, the son of the late Benjamin and Mary (Lohman) Addlesberger.

His early life was lived in Waynesboro. He and Mrs. Addlesberger were married in December, 1916, and had made their home at Waynesboro R.D. 2 for 45 years.

He had been employed at Frick Company for 32 years, until going to work for the State Highway Department in 1944. He later worked at the Greencastle Coach Co. for five years. From 1955 until ill health forced his retirement in 1964, he operated his own trucking business.

He was a member of the Refuge Tabernacle, Waynesboro R.D. 2.

In addition to his widow, Mrs. Lillian M. (Ressler) Addlesberger, he is survived by these children: Merle E. Addlesberger, Washington D.C.; Leonard D. Addlesberger, Greencastle R.D. 2; William C. Addlesberger and Mrs. Roy Myers, both of Waynesboro R.D. 2; Mrs. Rosalie Addlesberger, at home, Mrs. Mervin Negley, Mrs. Kenneth Fahnestock and Mrs. Leslie Eshleman, all of Chambersburg; Mrs. Norva Skaggs, Los Angeles, Calif.; Carl Addlesberger, Greencastle R.D., and Joseph Addlesberger, Waynesboro R.D. 3. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Lester Misner and the Rev. Willis Murray. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
