Tuesday noon, November 18th at his home in West Turin, occured the death of John Beecher, an aged and respected resident, after a long illness, He was born in Lorraine, France, January 24, 1850, and came to America in June, 1871, and settled near Mohawk Hill. The same year at St. Michael's Church, Mohawk Hill, he married Miss Elizabeth Kuffler and for the past 41 years he lived in the home where he died. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul's Church, Fish Creek. Mr. and Mrs. Beecher were parents of 13 children, eight of which whom are living. Besides his wife he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Frank Middlemiller, Mrs. Leo Frank, Constableville; Mrs. Simon Frank, Collinsville; Mrs. Martin Nelenback, West Lyden; Peter Beecher, Utica; Joseph of Verona; Anthony of Mohawk Hill and Henry, who resides at home; also 30 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The funeral arrangemnets are incomplete.

The funeral of John Beecher was largely attended from St. Peter's and St. Paul'sChurch, Fish Creek, Friday at 10:00. Rev. Father Diviney celebrated the requim mass. The alter boys serving were Andrew Frank, a grandson, and Andrew Hayes, a great grandson. There were beautiful flowers and many mass cards from friends and relatives of the deceased. Internment was made in the family plot in St. Michael's cemetery at Mohawk Hill. The following grandsons acted as bearers: Walter Middlemiller, Clarence, Clyde, Earl and John Frank and Robert Nellenbach. The funeral was in charge of Undertaker Clarence Trainor of West Leyden. Friends and relatives attended from Utica, Verona, Lyons Falls, Collinsville, Constableville, Boonville, Turin and West Leyden.
