Wallace V Best, long time resident in western Sargent county and for the past three years in Oakes, passed away in this city Thursday Dec 1 following an illness of three months. He was born Oct 12, 1877 at Chatfield, Minn.
Mr Best was of a kindly disposition and made friends of all with whom he came in contact. He loved sports and was known as a man fond of hunting and fishing. He was the son of Mr & Mrs Adam Best, both deceased.
Left to mourn this going is the widow, Mrs Sara Best; Arthur and Howard; Mrs Harold Romstad (Anna), Mrs Russel Nielsen (Marie) of Downer, Minn and Mrs Clifford Wickwire (Nona) of Dilworth, Minn.
Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Methodist church in this city. Rev S.E. Bushendorf officiating. Vocal numbers were supplied by a quartet consisting of Dolores Donnelly, Shirley Stout, Carol Van Houten and June Bylsma. Mrs Arne Melby was organtist.
Pall bearers were Olaf Berger, S.C. Stout, Geo Fordyce, Theo McMahon, Paul Savey and Chris Mikkelson. Burial was made in Oakesview cemetery.
