ROGERSVILLE - Mabel P. Evans, 76, went to be with the Lord Tuesday (April 22, 2003) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following an extended illness. She laid her treasures up in Heaven.

Mrs. Evans was a member of Henards Chapel Baptist Church.

She was employed with Tennessee Eastman with 18 years of service and retired from K-Mart.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gale Riley Jones Sr.; second husband, Edison Bailey; third husband, Joe P. Evans; parents, Henry and Frances White Parvin; two sisters, Verna Smith and Gladys Childress.


Surviving are two sons, Gale Riley Jones and wife Lona and Gary A. Jones and wife Sherry, both of Rogersville; three stepsons, Glen Evans, Rex Evans and Micky Evans; two stepdaughters, Darlene Palmer and Thelma Davis; four granddaughters, Melinda Gail Christian, Kim Head, Amanda Bledsoe and Kelli Jones; two grandsons, Jason Jones and Eric Jones; four great-granddaughters, Breanna Derrick, Nikki Christian, Halie Head and Hannah Head; two great-grandsons, Peyton Bledsoe and Dalton Jones; three stepgranddaughters, Christi Forbis, Michelle Howington and Heather Evans; fivestep grandsons, Allen Evans, Jody Allen, Robbie Palmer, Travis Jones and Charlie Evans; five stepgreat-granddaughters, Carly Helton, Callie Howington, Taylor Bledsoe, Erica Forbis and Caroline Forbis; five sisters, Irene Thomas of Greeneville, Viola Day of B.C., Vergie Dykes of Rogersville, Mildred Claiborne of Chattanooga and Wanda Bruner of Rogersville; four brothers, Glenn Parvin of Kingsport, Henry Parvin of Rogersville, Harlan Parvin of Church Hill and David Parvin of Rogersville; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8:30 p.m. today at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville. Friends may also call anytime at the home, 3311 Hwy. 66 South, Rogersville.

Services will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Raymond Hicks and the Rev. John Parrott Jr. officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in the Highland Cemetery.
