ROGERSVILLE - Gary Allen Jones, age 55, Rogersville died Tuesday, August 9, 2005 following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Hawkins County and was a former employee of IPC & L for more than 36 years. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gale Riley Jones, Sr. and Mabel Ruth Parvin Jones; grandparents, Clint and Maude Jones and Henry and Frances Parvin; many aunts and uncles and special cousin, Mark Dykes.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Fain Jones of the home; daughters, Melinda Gail (Nick) Christian, Kim (Dallas) Head and Kelli Jones, all of Rogersville; son, Jason Jones and wife, Wendi, Rogersville; step-daughter, Michelle (Mike) Calhoun, Church Hill; step-son, Travis (Angela) Jones, Rogersville; granddaughters, Breanna Derrick, Nikki Christian, Halie and Hannah Head, Carly Helton and Callie Howington; grandson, Dalton Jones; step-grandsons, Corbin Calhoun and Justin Ward; brother, Gale Riley Jones, Jr. and wife, Lona, Rogersville; mother-in-law, Joyce Fain, Rogersville; brother-in-law, Gary Fain and Rhonda, Rogersville; special aunts and uncles, Glen Parvin, Harlan and Delores Parvin, David and Yvonne Parvin, Claude and Virgie Dykes, Bill and Mildred Claiborne, Elizabeth "Viola" Day and Evelyn Parvin; several cousins; nephew, Eric Jones; niece, Colby (Amanda) Bledsoe; great-nephew, Peyton Bledsoe and special friend and cousin, Jake Parvin.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2005 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home, Rogersville. Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Revs. raymond Hicks and Teddy Webb officiating. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2005 at McKinney Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mack Stewart, Johnny cinnamon, Norman Cinnamon, Larry Rimer, Norman Wright, J.R. Price, Frankie Knight, Gorman Lipe, Jake Parvin and Terry Burns. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Helton, Sr., Billy Helton, Jr., Gary Mullins, Steve Taylor, Lonnie Greer, Jerry Davis, Randy Price, Ronnie Hughes, Bill Claiborne, Herman "Smiddy" Smith, Dale Venable, Steve Lawson, Joe Green, Scott McCoy, Spider Linkous and Bill Smith.
