FREDERICK - Funeral for Royce Gildon, 72, Frederick, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Jackson Funeral Home Chapel, Frederick, with the Rev. Robert Wilson officiating.
Mr. Gildon passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010, in Frederick.
Burial will follow in Frederick Memorial Cemetery.
Royce Gildon was born Dec. 16, 1937, at Tipton, to Abe and Jamie Baker Gildon. He attended Booker T. Washington School east of Tipton. He moved to California at an early age and lived there for more than 50 years. He worked in the automobile detailing business for many years. Due to his health, he returned to Frederick in December of 2009, to be near his family.
He is survived by two sons: Steve Leon, of San Diego; and Julius Gildon, Anaheim, Calif.; four brothers and sisters-in-law: Aron and Linda Gildon, Brea, Calif.; Willie Troy Gildon, Jackie Ray and Laquetta Gildon and Floyd "Little Jack" and Gwen Perry, all of Frederick; Shirley Gildon, of Hobart; Juanita Gildon, Baton Rouge, La.; and Lois and Mary Gildon, both of Altus; a sister and brother-in-law, Lilly and Plez Malone, of Clinton; an uncle and aunt, Roosevelt and Linda Gildon, Wichita Falls, Texas; special friends: Roy and Jim Bates, of California; and Myra, of Frederick; a special niece, April Gildon Lowery; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: Johnnie, Edward, Clarence, Bobbie and Bennie Gildon; a sister, Peggy Whitehead; and an aunt, Ellen Jackson.
