Services for Mrs. Arzelia Steen Whitten, age 104, of Olla were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, 1996 from the Olla chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Danley officiating. Interment followed in the Adams Cemetery west of Kelly.
Mrs. Whitten died Friday, July 19, 1996 at a Marrero Nursing Center following an extended illness.
Mrs. Arzelia Steen Whitten was born August 4, 1891 here in Louisiana. She was a member of the Pinehill Baptist Church in Urania.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Evie Rooney.
She is survived by: her three daughters, Ethel Barker of Jena, Mae Newsom of Carencro, and Marie Allbritton of Trout; 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchilden, 29 great-great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great-grandchild.
