Funeral services for James Edgar Downey, 22, will be conducted this afternoon at 2 from the Piedmont Baptist Church near Chesnee by the Rev. Vernon McAbee and the Rev. J.G. Wood.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the Bobo Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Downey died yesterday morning at his home, Pauline, Route 1, following a brief illness.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. & Mrs. V.P. Downey of Pauline, Route 1; 3 sisters, Mrs. F.A. Campson of Route 6, Mrs. F.W. Cannon of Pauline, and Miss Christine Downey of Pauline; 2 brothers, V.P. Downey, Jr. and Herbert Downey of Pauline.
Mr. Downey was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church of Pauline.
Serving as pallbearers at the funeral will be John Wyatt, H.E. Wyatt, H.G. Wyatt, W.W. Wyatt, Roland Downey and Fred Garrett.
